OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
Last updated October 8, 2026
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED, A SUBSCRIPTION DOES NOT CHANGE YOUR STANDING, RATING, MATCHMAKING, PRIZES, OR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
These Official Contest Rules ("Rules") apply to every contest on OLeetle (the contests listed on the Play page at oleetle.com). Each contest's page shows its start and end times, entry cost, prize table, and minimum number of matches; those details form part of these Rules for that contest. These Rules are in addition to the OLeetle Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy; if they conflict, these Rules control the contest.
1. SPONSOR
The sponsor of every OLeetle contest is Larp2Alt, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada, which operates OLeetle ("Sponsor", "we", or "us"). Mailing address: 145 1/2 Church Street, Unit 5, Office 945, Toronto, ON M5B 1Y4, Canada. Phone: +1 289-809-6923. Email: [email protected].
2. ELIGIBILITY
Anyone with an OLeetle account in good standing may enter a contest, play, and appear on its boards. OLeetle accounts are available to people who are at least 13 years old (see the Terms).
Prizes are placement points (section 7). Points have no cash value; their only value is that they can be exchanged for OLeetle AI credits, and only eligible players can make that exchange. To be eligible to exchange points, including placement points, for OLeetle AI credits, you must, when you claim: (a) be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher; (b) be a resident of Canada (excluding Quebec) or the United States; (c) have a verified email address and an account that is at least 7 days old; (d) have confirmed on OLeetle that you meet requirements (a) and (b); and (e) not be suspended, banned, or in breach of the Terms or these Rules. You give the confirmation in (d) once, and we record when you gave it and the country you named; if you stop meeting (a) or (b), you must not claim until you meet them again. Players who do not meet these requirements may still enter, play, appear on the boards, and receive placement points, but cannot exchange them for OLeetle AI credits.
3. HOW TO ENTER
Sign in to OLeetle, open the contest from the Play page, and enter it. Each contest takes entries from when it is published until it ends. One entry covers every match you play in that contest. You may enter each contest once, with one account.
A contest is free to enter, or costs the number of points shown on its contest page before you enter (400 points unless the page shows otherwise). OLeetle+ and OLeetle Max subscribers enter free. No purchase is necessary: points cannot be bought, and anyone can earn them for free by solving daily challenges, finishing duels, winning contest matches, completing quests, and through referrals, at the rates shown in the Services. If you pay points to enter and finish no match in that contest, the points are refunded automatically after the contest ends.
4. CONTEST PERIOD
Each contest runs from the start time to the end time shown on its contest page. Contest matches can be played only during that period; a match that has already started when the contest ends still counts once it finishes.
5. HOW THE CONTEST WORKS
When you enter a contest or play your first match in it, you are placed in one of three brackets by your OLeetle skill rating: Brute Force (below 1500), Optimized (1500 to 1949), or Optimal (1950 and above). Your bracket stays the same for the whole contest, and each bracket has its own board. Matchmaking pairs you with other entrants in your bracket, preferring players in your matchmaking region. In each match, both players get the same problem and the same time limit, and our server-side judge decides the result. If one player forfeits, or stays disconnected for 2 minutes, that player loses. Otherwise the first player whose submission passes every hidden test (in the order our server receives submissions) wins. If neither does before time runs out, the player who passed more hidden tests wins. If they passed the same number of hidden tests (at least one), the player whose submission that first reached that number used clearly less CPU time (at least 10 milliseconds and at least 10% less) wins, and otherwise the player who reached that number first wins. If neither player passed any hidden test, if both players forfeit or are disconnected, or if nothing separates them, the match is a draw. A match is aborted and does not count if, for example, a player never joins or the judge is unavailable. Each player has a contest rating for that contest, which starts at 1200 and moves after every finished match according to its result. When no other entrant is available, matchmaking may pair you with an automated opponent; those matches count on the board and toward your contest rating in the same way.
6. HOW WINNERS ARE DECIDED
When the contest ends, each bracket's board is ranked by contest rating, highest first. Ties are broken by the number of contest matches won, most first, and then by handle in alphabetical order, ignoring upper and lower case. Handles are unique, so no two players share a final place.
To win a prize, you must have finished at least the number of contest matches shown on the contest page (3 unless the page shows otherwise), and your account must be active, with a handle, and not suspended, banned, or deleted. A player who does not qualify is skipped, and the next qualifying player on that board takes the place.
7. PRIZES
Every bracket's board awards the prize table shown on the contest page before the contest starts. Unless the page shows otherwise, each board awards 500 points for 1st place, 300 points for 2nd, and 150 points for 3rd, so a contest awards up to 9 prizes, 3 on each of the three boards. A contest's page may show a different table, of up to 20 places per board. We do not reduce a contest's prizes after it starts.
Approximate value. Points have no cash value. Eligible players can exchange them for OLeetle AI credits at the rate shown on the OLeetle AI page, currently 2,000 points for 100 credits, and 100 credits pays for about US$1 of AI usage at standard model rates. At that rate the default prizes are worth about US$0.25 (500 points), US$0.15 (300 points), and US$0.075 (150 points), and the default prizes for a whole contest (2,850 points) are worth about US$1.43. Players who are not eligible to exchange points cannot obtain this value.
Placement points are the same for every player: a subscription to OLeetle+ or OLeetle Max never changes them. Prizes are credited to the winner's OLeetle account automatically, normally about 30 minutes after the contest ends. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or substituted, and are subject to the Terms. Your placement also adjusts your skill rating (see the Terms); that adjustment is not a prize and has no value.
8. ODDS OF WINNING
This is a contest of skill. Your chance of winning a prize depends on the number of entrants in your bracket, their skill and yours, and how many matches each player finishes. Some things are assigned by our system and are not in your control: which entrant, or automated opponent, you are paired with, and which problem each match uses.
9. SUBSCRIPTIONS DO NOT AFFECT RESULTS
Subscribers to OLeetle+ and OLeetle Max enter contests that cost points without paying points; everyone else can enter with points earned for free (section 3). Apart from that, OLeetle+ and OLeetle Max do not change contest standings, contest ratings, matchmaking, the prize table, placement prizes, or anyone's chance of winning a contest they have entered. Separately from prizes, OLeetle pays points for each contest match you win, and subscribers earn 1.5 times those per-match points, as described in the Terms. Those per-match points are not prizes under these Rules and do not affect standings. Complexity insights are never shown during a contest, and GitHub sync does not publish a contest problem until the contest window has closed.
10. CONDUCT AND DISQUALIFICATION
The fair-play rules in the Terms apply to every contest. We may void a match, correct a rating or standing, disqualify a player, and withhold or reverse a prize for cheating, using more than one account, collusion or match-fixing, unauthorized automation, exploiting a bug, a false eligibility confirmation, or any other breach of the Terms or these Rules. If a technical failure, error, or fraud affects a contest's fairness, we may void affected matches, extend the contest, end it early, or cancel it. If we cancel a contest, it awards no placement prizes, and within 7 days we return the points every entrant paid to enter it, whether or not they played. Our decisions about these matters are final, subject to applicable law.
11. PRIVACY
We use entrants' information to run contests, decide and verify winners, and credit prizes, as described in our Privacy Policy. Your handle, contest rating, matches played, wins, and placement are shown on the boards to other signed-in players. If you confirm your eligibility on the OLeetle AI or mock interview page, we record when you confirmed and the country you named. We do not share entrants' or winners' information with any outside sponsor.
12. GENERAL CONDITIONS
Winners are responsible for any taxes on what they receive. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, or for technical failures that prevent you from entering or playing; the limits of liability in the Terms apply. These Rules may be updated; changes will show a new "Last updated" date. We will not change a contest's entry cost, prize table, or minimum number of matches after the contest starts, except to fix an error in a way that does not disadvantage entrants or where the law requires.
13. GOVERNING LAW
These Rules are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law, disputes about a contest will be subject to the courts of Ontario.
14. CONTACT
